Rediscovering the Both/and Option

J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*

Catholic Truth proceeds from the BOTH/AND...
so it is not

GOD VS. SCIENCE
but rather

BOTH GOD AND SCIENCE
(for God created Science)

Atheistic anti-truth proceeds from a falsely conceived EITHER/OR.

Hyped arguments like this TIME cover are set up by those in the media
who contend that the EITHER/OR is the correct approach to reality...

IT ISN'T!

In fact it is even less rational than most tend to think.
It may be quintessentially American,
"My way or the highway"
"America right or wrong"
but it is also very wrong.

The Abortion law of the land Roe v. Wade
is enough to convict us before BOTH GOD AND MAN!

G.K. Chesterton was a master at pointing this out.
Concerning an atheist's intrinsic inconsistency, he writes:

"If there were no God, there would be no Atheists."
(Where All Roads Lead, 1922)
(i.e., There is both a God and an atheist who denies Him.)
“If I did not believe in God,
I should still want my doctor,
my lawyer and my banker to do so.”
(i.e., Those who refuse to serve God, the source of the moral code
still demand morality in those who are in their service.)

Think of it the next time you see an overt Catholic image (a rosary)
as a prop to elicit a response for a trumped up straw man debate.

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary,
Mike Rizzio
