The Annunciation...Our Lady of Light...Queen of the Rainbow

J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*

Take, double-take, triple-take...

Over the past four years I have returned again and again to this site: Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center, and yet I never placed it "center stage" so to speak in this blog dedicated to Light, Life and Love. Why not?

Such blindness!

In our all night vigil this morning, I was gifted with a book I had never previously encountered, As Bread that is Broken, by Fr. Peter G. van Breemen, SJ (1973). This old, worn paperback helped me immeasurably. As I prayed through chapters 1-4 in adoration I patiently waited for God to open my eyes to let in Spiritual Light.

Moments ago, pounding the keys on the computer for this blog, I re-found a link to the above site...Thank you, Holy Spirit!

The Blessed Virgin Mary was most certainly "in" deep prayer prior to the Annunciation/Incarnation (which I tend to believe was on the Sabbath). The Archangel Gabriel saw her perceptiveness, her receptiveness and her reflectiveness and God gifted Mary perpetually with the Light of the World.

Real prayer is saying "YES" to God , again and again and waiting for as long as it takes...with the patience of Job, with no expectations except the joy of doing His will. When we are able to "be" in prayer and not just "do" prayer, then we will have made a worthwhile step in a Life meant for Him alone. Then we will see His Love as He intends to gift it to us, the reality of the Kingdom of God with us, our Daily Bread, Jesus Christ's very life "in whom we live and move and have our being."

This circle of life is well-represented by the rainbow around Mary's Immaculate Heart...a heart totally given to her Spouse, the Holy Spirit, who compasses her being, with His Rainbow Light!

Somehow this morning, these ideas seem so new, fresh and exciting...hmmm?

Our Lady of Light,
thank you for your YES!

From Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center: http://www.olhsc.org/prayers.html

Mary's alleged words to a visionary in Ohio in 1996:

"In days past, God sent His rainbow to His people as a sign of hope after He flooded the earth. In these days God has sent me, your heavenly Mother, as a sign of hope for your land of America. So, you see, the rainbow is significant in my appearances here as Our Lady of Light. ...Therefore it is my desire that the prayer card...carry this sign of hope (the circular rainbow) which is my signature...Know that through these prayer cards many miracles and graces will flow from the Father. This is His gift to me and my gift to all of my children."

They ring true...YES?

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary,
