J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*
The more one sees stained glass images that link the covenant rainbow with the crucifix and the New and Everlasting Covenent (the Blood of Jesus Christ), the more one marvels at the genius of the evil one to co-opt the rainbow for his end time purpose—total war against life, the Sacrament of Marriage and the family.
God's covenant with Noah, shown here with his wife. "Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life." (Genesis 9:14-15). Detail of the Noah Window, located at the west end of the north aisle. Like most of the windows in Chartres Cathedral, it dates from the early 13th century.
"New Beginnings" is one of three stained glass windows designed to share the importance of the covenants between God, the Jewish people, and all life. Touching on the past, the present, and the future, these covenants set forth the path to the fulfillment of our destiny, as they are seen being passed from generation to generation.
We must remember our children are watching us. If we do not fight for the symbols of our faith today, within a few short decades they may have lost their ability to inspire faith, hope and love.
Here is another take on the same subject:
Way to go Bernie!
Brother Sun watches over us
His rainbow bridge beckons all,
To see His Light, to be His Life
The promise of God’s Loving call.
Imitate Mary
Become like Jesus
Live for the Triune God
Seek the Light of Our Lord Jesus Christ
See you on the High Ground!
