I read this novel
in my youth and was deeply affected by it.
I think it was at St. Aloysius School
in 7th or 8th grade.

John Butler becomes 
True Son in the
Lenni Lenape tribe
that adopts and raises him to manhood. 

(this same tribe lived on the NJ soil that
I grew up on in the 1960's)

He eventually finds the fuller truth
when he sees the barbarism of 
white children having been scalped.

He is then set on a course 
to return home.

Today's world is filled with
a fuller truth of
grizzly barbarism.

It is time to set a course 
and return home too.
