Everything Goes or Let's Get Smart and Unplug

J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*

At this very confused time in human history we have to pause and ask the question why.  Why is it that we hear and read that everything is about change, and why are the time-honored traditions of human culture being ripped down and trampled upon by a nameless faceless movement that seems to be out of control chaos.

Control vs Chaos (Kaos)
hmmmm?

We might have laughed at the antics of Agent 86, Maxwell Smart in the 60's, but in reality this sort of humor takes culture down the slope to accepting all sorts of evil. The Cone of Silence, the funny bad guys, the blatantly lying "would you believe" are all accepted on their own terms as comedy, laughed at, repeated, and not without a relativizing effect.

I guess at age 55 I am becoming a stick in the mud because I see the magic that Hogan's Heroes, Get Smart and F Troop has on my kids.  They are losing the opportunity to form healthy attitudes about what is truly right from what is truly wrong, what is good from what is evil.

Where is the intelligent discussion?  Where is the reinforcing activity that forms character based on real virtue, not canned virtual reality?

Pope Francis is urging us Catholics to get out there and witness for the good of all humanity and because our eternal destiny may be risk if we don't. We must remember the military maxim, the best defense is a good offense.

But how can we when we are still plugged in to the next generation boob tube through YOUTUBE?

One word.
UNPLUG

This is easier said than done.

We have help
