Pontifex Pontificum: inherited from the ancient title of Roman Emperors who expanded their territory by BUILDING BRIDGES (as in over water) . The title means BRIDGE BUILDER "to the Max!"—Supreme Bridge Builder, literally The Bridge Builder of the Builders of Bridges.

The Pope holds this official title and duty for it is he who leads the evangelical work of the universal Church.

Pope Benedict XVI is about a work and during this year of St. Paul we can only hope that he is successful in launching the end times bridge of ABSOLUTE TRUTH IN CHRIST.
