Mary's Day, Saturday and a Gift of Joy-filled Hope

J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*

I love the fact that the Church in her wisdom has consecrated Saturday, as the day of Our Lady. What a powerful statement that recognizes the true gift of femininity to the world. We must make Marian spirituality real in our lives, and call her "blessed." We must reclaim the days of the God's week so that we may go about doing God's work ever mindful that time is a gift of God and we must use it wisely.

As a thought experiment, what if we renamed the days of the week for this purpose:

Monday....Faithday (Fidesday) (Dedicated to the Father, in whom we hope to return to)
Tuesday...Hopeday (Spesday) (Dedicated to the Son, the source of Hope)
Wednesday...Loveday (Agapeday) (Dedicated to the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Love)
Thursday... Thanksday (Eucharistday) (Dedicated to the Gift of the Holy Mass)
Friday... Crossday (Cruxday) (Dedicated to the Passion of Jesus and his mother)
Saturday... Momday (Materday) (Dedicated to the Blessed Mother)
Sunday... Sonday (The Lord's Day) (Dedicated to the Lord, the God-Man)

While we are at it we might as well rename the months....

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary,
