"Through, Him, with Him and in Him..."

J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*

Dear Friends in Christ:

1. How often do you observe people making the "Sign of the Cross"
in public?

2. How often do you observe people making a proper genuflection while passing in front of the tabernacle in a Catholic Church?

3. Have you ever wondered why there are so many three-part realities in God's good creation?

We Americans talk about singularities and dualities that seem to crowd out the opportunity for engaging in trinitarian speak (two's company, three's a crowd?)

If we don't gift ourselves to our Triune God with a predisposition to the three-ness of His Personhood, as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to the three-ness of his Divine Action---His Light, Life, and Love, might His grace fall upon eyes that will not see, ears that will not hear and hearts that are either closed and hardened or unaccustomed and divided?

With the Blessed Mother as our exemplar, might we take a moment to ponder the critical importance of appreciating her Triune relationships as graced-filled daughter of the Father, mother of the Son and spouse of the Holy Spirit.

The Society of Apostolic Life to which my family have been covenanted has a beautiful image of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity that has three radiating rings bursting forth from her Immaculate Heart---it speaks volumes for the truth of relationships.

In the Church's sacramental life we have been gifted with three initiating realities that are meant to bring us to the full measure of our Christian identity---to full maturity in the faith: Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. When we keep these three pearls of great price ever present and active in our lives we see the multiplicative power of three...the first enlightens our being in conforming us to Christ, and as members of His Mystical making us adopted sons and daughters of God the Father, the second lifts to the perfection of love that is found in the Pascal Mystery and the Holy Sacrifice of Mass and the third enflames our soul with the power that flows from the Holy Spirit.

Remember, "A triple cord is not easily broken." (Ecclesiaticus 4:12)

I am sincerely yours in Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

Mike Rizzio, SOLT

PS. Here is a little "thought experiment."I have a hunch that the evil one is about a work here and that his strategy is to divide and conquer.

Ponder for a moment the mass media's darling, the term weapons of mass destruction (WMD): Nuclear, Biological, Chemical as anti-Father, anti-Son, and anti-Holy Spirit. Might this not lead to us a greater appreciation of the spiritual reality of Holy Mass, the weapon of Mass construction (WMC), building up the mystical body of Christ?

If that doesn't work for you, try the mantra from the 60's/70's, "sex, drugs and rock 'n roll." If you look at each term and relate it to the personhood and Divine Action of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you will begin to see why we are in, as my army friends used to say, deep kimchi. I will provide my take on this to anyone who desires to read it....its G-rated, I promise.

Imitate Mary
Become like Jesus
Live for the Triune God

Seek the Light of Our Lord Jesus Christ
See you on the High Ground!
