Jesus of Nazareth...A Matter of Heart and the Heart of the Matter

J.M.J. + O.B.T. + M.G.R.*

As I continue to read through Pope Benedict XVI's new book, Jesus of Nazareth I find myself edified on almost every page, for the Holy Father is operating on the Church as a heart specialist would, attempting non-invasive TMR (Transmyocardial Laser Revascularization) prior to resorting to bypass surgery. In mid-stream, he is using a pinpoint cold laser beam to revitalize cardiac tissue and increase blood flow, raising the spectacle of a renewed understanding of the real presence of Jesus in history, so that the world might come to see that His Real Presence has never been more real than it is now, multiplied on sacred altars across the globe, and reserved in tabernacles 24/7.

Buy this book and chew on its contents! Add it to your daily diet of fruitful discussion with others for it is nourishment, pure and simple, Truth that will set you free. We must all read closely Benedict's inspired words for they challenge strongly held false assumptions about the current crisis in the Catholic Church, its effect on popular culture and the world.

For me, this chewing and pondering led to the formulation of the following thought experiment:

What if across this great nation of ours every diocese/archdiocese was named in a class action lawsuit as co-conspirators in "capital crimes against humanity."

What if the future of the Church in America rested in the hands of twelve jurors (three of whom were Catholic) whose duty it was to decide if there was a preponderance of evidence to support the prosecutors claims that there was corruption in the highest places by leaders of the Church.

What if their verdict was guilty, and the legal remedy was radical and complete—a state controlled settlement that meant all Church assets were turned over, and like the Resolution Trust Company handling of the Savings and Loan debacle, an agency would be established to mediate the claims, one after another, until there is no property left (a National Geographic Documentary memory come rushing to mind... an aged "alpha" she-lion surrounded by her natural born enemies, nipped at and harassed and eventually taken down and devoured by blood stained laughing hyenas).

Would the TRUTH of the Holiness of the Roman Catholic Church be dealt a death blow?
Would there be any reason to hang on to a ship that has sunk to the bottom of the sea?
Would your faith in God have been in vain?

These are important questions to ponder.

Let me submit that if you answered, NO, YES, NO you understand that the Sign of Contradiction that was Jesus of Nazareth is the Sign of Contradiction of His Mystical Body. The God-Man who became sin and died for our sins, did so precisely because He knew there would be sin by those human beings that populate His Church. We must wake up to acknowledge this.

If and when the dam breaks—for it appears that as chancery offices are sold in LA and Boston, it is cracking—the flood waters in a counter intuitive way, may wash away what ails us, and reveal what really matters, the Great Apostasy that is sapping our strength.

MASS IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR GRACE FLOWS
FROM THIS DIVINE WELLSPRING.

EVERY CATHOLIC MUST SERIOUSLY CONSIDER
OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR CREATING THIS MESS.

MISSING MASS HURTS THE WHOLE BODY.

And the remedy?

Make going to see God, going to love and serve God, the most important thing you do EACH day and demonstrate your faith by worthily receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Then we will have a fighting chance to save our cherished America, for it will not be our fight, but the Lord's and His and our Blessed Mother's ultimate triumph.

In a strange sign of contradiction they need our help, for they have no other hearts and hands than ours.

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary I am,
